Loving The Eels

That's it really. It's no surprise to find that Mark E's father was a dead clever physicist. He is a dead clever lyricist.

My favourite line is from I Like Birds:

"If you're small and on a search
I've got a feeder for you to perch on"

I can never work out if it's supposed to be rude or not.

It's "Eels," not "The Eels." Well honestly...

So anyway. Is the cat dead or alive? I'm still not entirely sure.

Is it? How embarrassing. I bet lots of people gets that wrong though. Like The Sudan and The Lebanon. Losing battle.

Re: the cat, I always thought they should use a see through box. That way they'd know.

This is one of my favourite topics. (Pause for respectful silence). So, f'rinstance, it was not The Happy Mondays or The Inspiral Carpets. Neither is it The Arctic Monkeys. Strictly speaking it was also simply Buzzcocks and (if you studied the album artwork) it was Pixies, not The Pixies (though I think they then released a compilation called Death to the Pixies which slightly spoiled this). Hard as it is to stick to, it was Ramones not The Ramones (eg 2nd album was called 'Ramones Leave Home'). It was not The Pet Shop Boys. It is not The Editors.

I could go on.

I have no thoughts on the cat. Science is for geeks.

I can see how that might get to be a special interest. Especially if one spends a lot of time studying album artwork.

You might find it easier to relate to Schroedinger's Dog. But that would be easy: woofing and banging around = alive dog.
